Smothered Sliders: bite sized snacks that pack a lot of flavor. Never deny your taste buds the joy that comes from a few sliders covered in creamy white American cheese sauce and topped with sweet, caramelized onions on petite, angel-soft snowflake rolls. This is the perfect addition to a summer day party platter!

Everyone knows that burgers, onions and American cheese go together, and the statistics prove it. Sliders are most often paired with burgers 41% of the time, onions 32%, and American cheese 12%. They are currently found on 16.6% of US menus and have a one-year growth of 4.4%. Patties could also be easily swapped out with chicken or veggie patties for greater menu variety.

PREPARATION

  1. Caramelize onion strips in a hot skillet. Set aside.
  2. Form 8 beef slider patties and place in skillet at medium to medium high heat. Cover with a lid and cook until done.
  3. In a separate sauce pan, add in water and the cheese (diced). Stir until melted. Reduce heat to low.
  4. Cut the snowflake rolls in half and add patties and onions. Drizzle with cheese sauce and top with the roll.
  5. Add a toothpick with a pickle slice as a garnish.
